First propane powered marker entered world paintball market. According to Tippmann, the producer of Tippmann C-3 with PEP (Propane Enhanced Performance) technology, it is the world’s first propane powered paintball marker. With more than 50,000 shots per 16-ounce tank, you can spend more time playing paintball and less time trying to find a place to fill your CO2 tank.
C3 is described as more convenient, more affordable, safe and easy to use than CO2. It’s aimed at both newbies and mature paintball players, wishing to concentrate on the strategy and marksmanship.

Although a nice idea, the marker leaves something to be desired, i mean, it looks like pump, and there are obvious dangers of using propane as a propellant as opposed to non combustible propellants. I could maybe see the technology taking off, but not this particular marker.

This is a great idea, and I wonder if propane could be used for other markers, I don’t see why not.

it cant be used on other markers cus the heat of an electric gun would egnight the propane.thats why it is only used in pump guns

‘It can’t be used in other markers because … would ignite the propane’ - This gun DOES ignite the propane - the battery produces a series of sparks to ignite the propane in the combustion chamber - so the gun gets quite hot
The whole workings of this gun are completely different to CO2/air powered guns
You can buy propane all over the place for a few quid and it lasts for ever
I’ll bet Tippmann are working on a semi right now - the heat issue being one problem - once they manage to produce a semi automatic… bye bye CO2
