Battle for the Sword in the Stone !
Arthur was the first born son of King Uther Pendragon and heir to the throne of England. As Merlin the wise magician predicted, when King Uther died there was a great conflict that arose over who should be the next king.
Merlin used his magic to set the sword, Excalibur in a stone. Written on the sword, in letters of gold, were these words;
Of course all the contenders for the throne took their turn at trying to draw the sword, but none could succeed. Arthur, famously withdrew the sword to use in a tournament and following this he became King. Arthur's base was at a place called Camelot. Here he built a strong castle where he and knights met around the legendary Round Table.
This field now recreates an epic conflict between the warring knights and armies of Arthur and Mordred the Black Knight. As Arthurs knights, you will play a role in the defence of Camelot form Mordreds marauding knights, who are eager to capture this stronghold. Sally forth from the confines of Camelot Castle and reclaim the sword from the stone. Or maybe Mordred will win the day and proclaim himself the rightful King and bend the country to his own will !
